For outdoor activities (in the mountains, in the woods, outside the city) it is good to choose a flashlight with a power of 1000 lumens or more. The number of available light modes is worth choosing in relation to the place and the way the flashlight is used. Most models are equipped with 2 or 3 modes. The choice of the type of power supply depends mainly on the time of use of the flashlight and the possibility of charging it. If you have the ability to regularly charge the flashlight, choose a battery-powered model. On the other hand, in a situation where you know you will not have the time to do so, it is worth choosing models with batteries.
