EDC (Every Day Carry) is the term for a group of items carried with you on a daily basis and outside the home. The purpose of EDC is to make it easier to perform daily activities and to create a way to deal with emergencies. The average EDC equipment is a collection of compact items such as a phone, wallet, keys, and in more extensive kits also: a flashlight, knife or pocket knife, and a fire source. EDC can be expanded and completed according to one's tastes and needs. The listed items should be compact so that they can easily be carried in pockets, a kidney or a backpack.

An EDC flashlight should be characterized by its size so that carrying it is in no way cumbersome. The most versatile will be a classic handheld flashlight, but if you perform activities for which two free hands are needed, a small head flashlight will be a good choice. There are also flashlight models on the market that can be used both as a handheld flashlight and a headlamp - for example, the Olight Perun flashlight.

When choosing an EDC flashlight, pay attention to the power of the flashlight, the available light modes and the type of power supply. A flashlight that will be used for proverbial shining, such as in the basement or by the car, does not need to have high power. In the aforementioned situations, a model of about 200 lumens will suffice. For outdoor activities (in the mountains, in the woods, outside the city) it is good to choose a flashlight with a power of 1000 lumens or more. The number of available light modes is worth choosing in relation to the place and the way the flashlight is used. Most models are equipped with 2 or 3 modes. The choice of the type of power supply depends mainly on the time of use of the flashlight and the possibility of charging it. If you have the ability to regularly charge the flashlight, choose a battery-powered model. On the other hand, in a situation where you know you will not have the time to do so, it is worth choosing models with batteries.

The Military.pl store offers EDC flashlights from manufacturers such as Olight, XRG, Helikon, M-Tac and Maglite. Flashlights are available both with a low power of 12 lumens and models with a light output of more than 2000 lumens. You can choose models whose housing is made of titanium, aluminum, copper, metal or rubber, for example. We encourage you to check out our range of EDC flashlights.
