A thriller in which the facts of one of Nazi Germany's last war uprisings are intertwined with literary fiction.
A German physicist who dreamed of flying to the moon, but instead of discovering the world, is forced to destroy it. An English archaeologist who, instead of exploring ancient ruins, must track the enemy's movements. He is trying to preserve humanity, she to save her country.
November 1944. Germany is facing military defeat. The only chance to turn the tide is Hitler's miracle weapon - the V2. Rudi Graf, one of the designers of the missiles, is responsible for the rocket attacks on England and especially on London. While their escalation satisfies the Führer, it puts German soldiers in mortal danger. Graf, who has never believed in Nazi propaganda, no longer sees any chance of victory, and considers the continued launching of V2s as simple genocide. The question is, will he dare to do something about it?
Kay Cathon-Walch of the Women's Auxiliary Service of the RAF miraculously escapes with her life when a German rocket hits the house where she spent an intoxicating night with her lover. Terrified by the proximity of death, the girl volunteers for a dangerous mission to identify and eliminate rocket launchers.
A V2 missile takes five minutes to reach London. To eliminate another one, the British have only six minutes. On one side of the front is Kay, on the other Graf, their paths should not cross, but fate sometimes plays strange tricks.
