The name pagon comes from Russian, while the old name for military epaulettes is epaulet or gallon. It comes in the form of various types of patches and pins, which are attached to the epaulet. It is part of the uniform of the army, police, firefighters and scouts. Military pagons come in various forms, such as beams, crotches, diamonds, stripes and stars. They denote rank or function, and sometimes there are numbers and symbols on them to denote affiliation with a particular unit.
