A pulley bow is a type of bow that uses a pulley system consisting of a taut cable and pulleys. This system aids string tension and facilitates accurate shooting. Compared to classic straight bows, an arrow shot from a compound bow has greater energy compared to a classic bow, with maximum string tension requiring the least physical effort from the shooter.

The distinctive, intricate design of the pulley system allows its properties to be adjusted and adapted to the user's requirements. The bow's string is wound on pulleys that are cross-connected to the opposing arms of the bow. The most important features of this bow are the reduction of the force required to maintain a properly tensioned string and the increase in speed and improvement in accuracy.

This type of bow is comfortable to use, which is why we recommend the compound bow for beginner shooters. Thanks to its very good characteristics, it is also used by professional, advanced sport shooters. The average weight of a compound bow is about 2 kg, so regular training will strengthen the arms and also have a positive effect on maintaining the correct body posture. The weight of the bow is determined by the materials used in its construction, and these can be aluminium alloys, magnesium alloys, anodised duralumin type 6061 and composite materials.

Compound bows show advantages over traditional models. Decisive factors for this advantage are: low force required to tension the string; reduced perceived vibration when the arrow is released; the bow's resistance to varying temperatures and humidity; increased accuracy, repeatability and shooting range; adjustability; increased arrow speed.

Compound bows are most commonly used in sporting disciplines and recreational activities, but can also be used in other disciplines when properly adapted. In some countries, a hunting block bow may be approved for hunting.

At Military.pl you will find a wide range of compound bows, both in versions for right-handed and left-handed shooters. We warmly invite you to check out our range.
