Mushroom picking has been a popular activity in the summer and autumn for many years. Not only is it a walk in the woods, but it is also a practical activity that requires the right equipment. Many fans of mushroom picking use tools designed for this activity, namely mushroom knives. Mushroom knives are specialised tools that make picking mushrooms easier by minimising the risk of damaging them, which is particularly important with delicate edible species.

The blades have been specially designed for practical and efficient use. Among other things, they make it possible to precisely cut the stems of mushrooms without damaging their caps. A mushroom knife can come in a variety of designs. When choosing the right one, it is worth paying attention to aspects such as the shape of the blade, the material of construction, the provision of an ergonomic handle, the integrated additional components, the folding blade, the included holster and the weight.

Mushroom picking knives are usually blades with a specific curved shape, which makes it easier to precisely cut mushrooms at the base of the stems. A mushroom chamois or sickle is a very good choice for both beginners and advanced mushroom pickers. A knife with a blade of this shape significantly reduces the risk of damaging the structure of the mushroom when picking it.

A mushroom knife should be made of good quality materials. The most common material used in such a blade is stainless steel, which not only ensures the durability of the blade, but also resistance to corrosion. Thanks to the use of robust and resistant materials, it is possible to keep the knife in good shape even if it is frequently used in humid conditions.

An essential element of the mushroom knife is the ergonomic handle, thanks to which the user can enjoy a secure grip and full control of the blade. The handle is usually made of wood or good quality plastic that is resistant to moisture. It is also worth paying attention to the profiling of the handle.

Some mushroom knives can be equipped with additional useful features. In MILITARY.pl you will find knives with special brushes at the handle. The small brushes are used to clean the surface of the mushroom from dirt such as sand, dust, mud, grass or leaves.

Folding models such as the folder or the mushroom knife are also worth looking out for. In contrast to knives with a fixed head, folding models can be stored in your pocket without the risk of accidental injury. An additional advantage of the mushroom knives is that they are equipped with additional elements; a penknife can include, for example, tweezers for pulling out splinters or a can opener. However, if you are using a knife with a fixed blade, a sturdy holster made of Cordura, natural leather or nylon will be useful.

Mushrooming knives are usually lightweight and handy blades, but in the MILITARY.pl range you will find a variety of blades to suit your mushrooming preferences. If you prefer equipment with a small size and weight, choose a mushroom knife, and if you need a full-length blade, we recommend standard models.
