Tom Dzieran was born in the early 1960s and experienced a poor childhood in communist Poland. As a teenager on the streets of Lodz, he fought for survival - and literally. Like many young boys, he spent his free time training in martial arts and street brawls. He got a taste of the life of an opposition smuggler and had no precise dreams. Who did he want to be, and who did he become?
Life in a country in the iron grip of communism was not colorful.
In the 1980s, he joined the Solidarity underground, distributed anti-communist propaganda and participated in protests. During martial law, he was arrested, convicted and imprisoned in a regime prison for political prisoners, where he suffered torture and violence. However, he never lost hope or faith in his cause.
Drago got a ticket to the US in 1984 - one way.
His life is an incredible and inspiring story that shows that the American Dream does not come true on its own, but its realization is possible through persistence and hard work.
A friendly conversation between two veterans whose fate brought them together in the Iraq war and allowed them to survive the toughest test. This is a ready script for a film that could become a surefire contender for the Hollywood Oscars.
"A bully, a political prisoner in communist Poland, a Navy SEAL operator, and for us guys from Mars, a friend and comrade in arms. Tom Dzieran "Drago" is an outstanding character, escaping all schemes. It is thanks to Drago's commitment and dedication, thanks to the joint combat operations of GROM and Navy SEAL operators in Iraq, that the brotherhood of arms that continues to this day was born." - Res. Col. Piotr Gąstal, former commander of JW GROM.
