The Morale Patch is made of jacquard. The emblem is equipped with a one-sided Velcro strap, which allows you to attach it to your clothing, backpack, helmet or elements of your equipment.
The patch depicts half of a head in a Spartan helmet and half of a soldier's head in contemporary equipment. The Greek sword placed at the center of the emblem bears the inscription "Molon Labe" (Gr. Come and Take! ) - words attributed to King Leonidas of Sparta, a response to Xerxes, king of the Persians, who, before the Battle of Thermopylae, offered peace in exchange for bowing and the right to Spartan land. The corners of the patch feature the Spartan shield and the card symbol of spades.
The words of King Leonidas have become a symbol of the attitude of a warrior who does not give up his dignity in the face of the enemy's threats, even if the latter has a significant advantage. It is an invitation to fight and a foreshadowing of the high price the opponent will have to pay - even if he is ultimately victorious.
Morale Patch patches are worn by soldiers and other services alongside patches specific to their own unit to "boost morale." They are a kind of identifying and unifying element for the group and are part of soldier humor.
