Maskpol Patrol backpack 40 l - MAPA
A 40-litre capacity patrol backpack made of durable and abrasion-resistant 500D Cordura.
The main compartment, equipped with two flat compartments , can be accessed via a two-way zipper, sewn in a U-shape. This method of unzipping allows the backpack's stiffened side wings to unfold, and thus gives easier access to the additional cargo pockets (Velcro-fastened) included in the backpack.
The backpack is equipped with a top pocket and a flat pocket on the back closed with a two-way zipper. Two open side pockets allow carrying bottles or spare gear. The manufacturer included a rain cover with the backpack .
The sides are covered with MOLLE/PALS mounting straps, and there is a velcro panel on the front for patches or emblems. A bungee cord and numerous D-rings allow you to attach additional gear.
The carrying system consists of comfortable, contoured suspenders of adjustable length, chest belt and a wide hip belt fastened with a durable Duraflex buckle. The hip belt can be hidden under the panel on the wall on the back side .
The Patrol model has been equipped with a hydration tube exit hole, closed with a Velcro flap, and a loop for suspending a hydration reservoir.
The suspenders have been lined with soft material, which minimizes the risk of rubbing shoulders. Thanks to their proper profiling, the weight is distributed evenly on the shoulders. Between the suspenders there is a transport handle. The padded, thermoformed back ensures high comfort and allows proper moisture wicking.
The set includes 3 trays with dimensions:
- 13 x 14 x 28 cm,
- 19 x 14 x 28 cm,
- 28 x 14 x 28 cm.
The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the wz.93 camouflage. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.
Highlights of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colours that form layers resembling levels on a map,
- colours optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.
