Maskpol Softshell Women's Jacket SMD-01 - MAPA

Damska kurtka taktyczna typu Softshell ze wstawkami z materiału mundurowego w kamuflażu MAPA. Świetnie sprawdzi się w survivalu, turystyce, w ASG oraz w rekreacyjnych aktywnościach outdoorowych. Ze względu na swoją wielowarstwową konstrukcję kurtka nie tylko skutecznie chroni przed wiatrem i deszczem, lecz także nie wymaga stosowania dodatkowej odzieży ocieplającej. 

The softshell is made of triple-layer polyester laminate:
- outer weather-resistant impregnated fabric,
- middle PTFE Teflon membrane,
- inner lining insulating fleece lining.

The collar, the inside of the hood, the pockets and the sleeves have been reinforced with US-23 uniform fabric - it is a durable 50/50 combination of soft cotton and polyester.Thanks to the Rip-Stop weave, the fabric is durable and resistant to abrasion and tearing.

The entire garment is fastened with a sturdy one-way zipper. The high zipper is part of a hood with a welt, which further protects the head from cold and wind. To improve thermal comfort under the arms there are ventilation holes.

The cuffs are finished with elastic piping, and the waist bottom band features an elastic drawstring with a stopper to adjust the width to the wearer's figure and to protect against wind-blown.

Model wyposażono w 2 klasyczne kieszenie boczne zamykane na zamki błyskawiczne. The interior of the pockets is finished with breathable mesh.

There are sewn 2 large velcro panels (Velcro) on the sleeves, which allow attaching any emblems, such as distinction, state flag, unit emblem or so-called Morale Patches. On the right chest there is button for a name tag.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools of military camouflage design (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of terrain photographs, has attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the camouflage pattern wz.93. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

Most important features of MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors creating layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using a macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. It is more advanced than them in some respects, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.
