3M Peltor Combat Arms Earplugs 4.1 Large Semi-active Hearing Protectors

Semi-active hearing protectors, are earplugs equipped with special sound canals, which are provided with closures on the outside. When inserted into the ears, the user has the option of closing or opening the canal. In addition, there is a mechanical filter in the earplugs to reduce noise. The earplugs do not require any power supply - the filter works entirely mechanically.

• Open mode allows you to hear ambient sounds (e.g. instructions, commands) and carry on conversations. When impulse noise occurs, a built-in acoustic filter reduces its intensity, reducing the flow of sound. Open mode is recommended for impulse noise (such as at a shooting range, firing range or during combat operations) when communication is important.
• Closed mode provides a higher level of protection, designed for situations where impulse noise does not require hearing the surroundings, and for continuous noise (such as in helicopters or combat vehicles).
