Stewart Edward White (1873-1946) traveler and writer. Author of a great many books, including adventure books and camping guides, and an investigator of paranormal phenomena. An astute observer of nature and human nature, he was interested in the times of the wild frontier, interviewing the last surviving trappers and gold prospectors of the time. An honorary scout of the Boy Scouts of America organization, according to Theodore Roosevelt the best shooter he ever hosted on his rancho.
In "Camp and Trail" - or "On the Trail and in Camp" in the Polish translation by Diana Wierzbicka - he introduces the reader to the arcana of camping in the first decade of the 20th century. A good and surprising read. The author draws handfuls from Nessmuk and Kephart and adds his experience and simple, practical knowledge of hiking and camping in the truest wilderness.
The book is written in Polish.
