This richly illustrated compendium reconstructs its history and significance based on original source materials. It also discusses the tank's weapons system, its advantages and disadvantages, and analyzes wartime reports, and compares it with vehicles equipped by enemy armies. The review is complemented by previously unpublished photographs and newspaper articles.

The book is the result of meticulous archival work and includes authentic reports, color drawings and rare documents and photographs.

Thomas Anderson is an expert on the history of the German military from 1933 to 1945. In providing historical and technical data, he relies not only on his own memory and the literature on the subject, but also on reliable archival data.
