ThePanzerkampfwagen IV is the only type of German tank that was in the equipment of the German armored forces throughout World War II. From the first lightning campaigns to the final battles in the defense of the Reich, attacked by powerful Red Army groupings. The PzKpfw IV was among the most important armament types of the German armored forces, and between 1939 and 1945 more than 8,500 copies of this tank were produced.
The Panzer IV has undergone a great deal of modernization in its history, and the introduction of long-barrel guns on these tanks in the summer of 1942 meant that they fought effectively against more modern Soviet and Allied vehicles, remaining the primary tank type in German armored divisions until the very end.
In this lavishly illustrated historical publication, the author, Thomas Anderson, uses previously unknown photographs and excerpts from authentic German war documents and battle reports to present readers with the full story of the PzKpfw IV tank.
The book comes in a Polish language version.
