The OTP (Outdoor Tactical Pants®) pants of the Polish brand Helikon, a leading manufacturer of tactical clothing, are an upgraded version of the UTP (Urban Tactical Pants) pants produced since 2009. The UTP pants are urban pants - Helikon brand designers, listening to feedback and suggestions from their customers, therefore designed and created an outdoor type of pants, referring to the look and functional features of its predecessor, while maintaining a civilian look.
That's how OTP was created, which are pants for those who appreciate above-average freedom of movement and high durability of used clothing. They are ideal for off-road outings, and of course will not disappoint us in urban conditions as well.
The OTP pants are made of stretch fabric using 4-Way Elastic technology (elastic in all directions). The material is lightweight, breathes well and dries quickly, which is of considerable importance in the field.
The OTP also uses an admixture of Teflon (DuPont™ Teflon® Coating), making the pants more resistant to stains or dirt.
In the case of these pants, the Helikon company proves to us that stretchy, snug-fitting and non-restrictive pants can also be roomy! For in the OTP pants we have at our disposal as many as ten pockets. Two of them are classically located at hip level, and for greater durability they are mesh and have reinforced edges.
Four pockets are located on the thighs (two of them are zippered, the other two are Velcro), while the other four pockets are located on the back of the pants (one narrow pocket has been incorporated into each wide one). The pockets have been laid out not accidentally, they are located close to the center of gravity, for greater user comfort.
In addition, the cargo-type pockets feature elastic bands to which you can attach additional equipment, such as a first aid kit or other personal items.
It is also possible to place low-profile protective inserts at knee height in the OTP pants. In these places, from the inside of the legs, special pockets have been placed for their installation.
The locks of the Japanese company YKK®, the world's leader and largest manufacturer of zippers, ensure high quality and long life even with frequent use.
Instead of a button, a wide Velcro is used. Its great advantage is that it can be adjusted within a range of 6 centimeters. The elastic band, which was sewn into the waistband, significantly improves the fit of the pants to the user's figure. Wide belt loops (up to 50mm wide), will allow us to use standard belts and tactical belts, such as EDC, UTL® or Cobra®. The two front loops additionally have loops, allowing the attachment of snap hooks or D-rings.
The pants come in several color variants, so you can easily choose the right one for your working conditions or personal tastes. Thanks to the presence among the sizes of additional variants (short - shorter, long - longer), there will also be no problem in selecting the appropriate length of the pants.
