The book "Rajd w działaniach pododdziałów lekkich. Studium taktyczne" - Pawel Makowiec

Raiding operations have been present in tactical operations since antiquity, and in the form of raiding operations (zagon) they have also been present since the Middle Ages in the Polish art of war. In the combat of light subdivisions, they are part of the so-calledinfantry minor tactics (IMT), being an effective combat tool in the hands of commanders of special subdivisions, regular infantry or guerrillas. In the conditions of the modern, dispersed battlefield, with the use of modern technology, it still creates a real threat to the enemy deep inside his grouping, as evidenced by the war in Ukraine.

The purpose of the publication is to attempt to discuss the basic elements of raid operations, which, according to the author, are crucial to the success of small subdivisions in combat. Skillful use of terrain conditions, stealthy infiltration and effective use of firepower, as well as means of communication and command support are the basis for developing a local tactical advantage over the enemy in the area of the raid object.

The structure of the publication fulfills the premise of creating an effective tool to guide the commander of an infantry subdivision through the meanders of the organization and tactics of raid operations. The chapters sequentially discuss issues related to the conceptual apparatus and classification, planning and execution of a raid in various tactical variants and combat environments. A special role in the text is played by the discussion of the tactics of infiltration of the enemy grouping, which is a key element of raiding operations. Referring to the experience of the armed conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries, the author tried to include in the publication forward-looking means of combat and equipment, the use of which significantly expands the combat capabilities of light subdivisions.

The publication makes extensive use of available combat regulations of the Polish Army, US Army, US Marine Corps, as well as titles in the field of IMT. The aforementioned items - supplemented by the author's experience acquired during various IMT training courses, as well as through study work - made it possible to develop a new perspective on the issue of raid operations.

The book "Rallying in the Activities of Light Subdivisions. A Tactical Study " is intended for use primarily by soldiers of WOT light infantry subunits, WL aeromobile subunits, WS subunits, as well as members of pro-defense associations and groups and all those interested in the issues of infantry tactical operations.
