In the context of two basic operations: assault and defense, the authors discuss in detail the main principles of light infantry tactics, command, the action planning process and modern decision matrices to support decision-making and command in direct combat. They also discussed training methods to develop the tactical and decision-making capabilities of command staff and soldiers up to the platoon-company level of light infantry.
