A patch made of durable material with blood group AB (IV) Rh+. The so-called Jansky designations (Roman numerals) are blood type designations that are used in Eastern European countries. A velcro (Velcro) panel allows the patch to be attached to clothing or other items of equipment.
The blood group emblem is intended to provide quick and necessary information for medical services.
The name MM-14 is an abbreviation of маскувальний малюнок (maskuval'nyy malyunok = camouflage pattern) and the year 2014, when this camouflage was officially approved. The pattern references the American UCP camouflage, but shades matched to the colors naturally occurring in Ukraine were chosen. The introduction of the MM-14 camouflage pattern was an important element of the reform of the Ukrainian army aimed at breaking away from post-Soviet identification. Unofficially, the MM14 camouflage also goes by the names Ukrainian Pixel Camo and Ukrainian Digital Camo.
