Lightweight, modular chest rig vest made of durable laminate (2 layers of 560D Cordura). Equipped with laser-cut mounts in the MOLLE system.
The open main cargo compartment is equipped with an insert for 4 magazines in M4/AK standard. Shock-cord protection finished with a comfortable Cordura handle prevents the magazine from accidentally slipping out, while providing free access to it. Located on the front, a detachable tray with an organizer allows you to take additional equipment. A velcro panel allows you to attach a variety of patches or emblems.
Two paracord loops at the bottom of the vest allow carrying additional equipment attached, for example, with a carabiner.
The carrying system consists of detachable suspenders with a comfortable comfort pad and a detachable waist belt. A molded mesh spacer on the inside of the main panel ensures good air circulation.
The MAPA camouflage pattern was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among other publications, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the wz.93 camouflage. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented to date as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army.
The most important features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors that create layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette by means of a macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.
The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.
