Maskpol Thermal T-shirt - MAPA B
Lightweight, short-sleeve thermoactive T-shirt in MAPA B camouflage to regulate body temperature during any type of physical activity. Made of durable polyester knit fabric with very good breathability properties. The T-shirt will be suitable for tactical training, survival, ASG and recreational outdoor activities. Although intended for the civilian market, it will also be appreciated by professionals in the uniformed services.
The T-shirt's material dries faster than cotton, leaving you feeling dry and comfortable. In addition, reinforced flat seams allow a full range of movement, while protecting the body from skin abrasions. The use of silver ions inside the fabric structure inhibits the development of bacterial flora and thus the formation of unpleasant odors, does not cause allergic irritation and prolongs freshness during use.
The MAPA camouflage pattern was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, an author of, among others, Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). The innovative project, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the wz.93 camouflage. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.
Highlights of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors that form layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette using macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.
The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, it also better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from late spring to early fall.
