Book "W królestwie Hansa Franka" - Leszek Adamczewski
The General Government - an illegal "state" created by the Germans in the territories of the occupied Republic of Poland. Its history spans all the years of the war - from 1939 to 1945. Poles associated this strange administrative creation mainly with street roundups, executions, deportations to concentration camps or forced labor, and two lost uprisings. Without overlooking these tragedies, the author also shows a slightly different face of the General Government: from the fate of cultural treasures to V-2 rocket tests.
Adamczewski takes readers to secret meetings of Nazi dignitaries, and looks behind the scenes of the preparations for the assassinations of Franz Kutschera and Hans Frank and Wilhelm Koppe by the Home Army. He visits the shelters of two Führer quarters built in the General Government. He also tries to determine whether Adolf Hitler could have visited the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa.
The book in a Polish language version.
