Wisport Raccoon 85 l Backpack - MAPA

Large military-survival backpack with a capacity of 85 liters. Made of abrasion- and tear-resistant material. The main compartment can be divided into two smaller ones. The upper part then occupies about 2/3 of the capacity, and the lower part about 1/3.

The main compartment is closed from the top with a soft chimney and fastened with a trouser for stability. The chimney is covered by aadjustable and detachable flap equipped with two pockets. In turn, access to luggage carried on the bottom is provided by a flap located at the bottom.

There is an additional small pocket on the bottom of the backpack, which conceals a rain cover for the backpack. On the front and sides there areMolle system mounting straps, which allow you to mount bags, pouches or a first aid kit. Also worth mentioning is the backpack's quick release and hydration system compatibility.

Carrying comfort is ensured by the adjustable carrying system (FAS Plus Ergonomic) and a wide hip belt. The stability of the luggage carried is guaranteed by the compression strap system. The wall directly adjacent to the back is reinforced with an aluminum frame.

On the sides there are two pockets with a capacity of 9 liters each for smaller equipment.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among others, the publication Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools of military camouflage design (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of photographs of the terrain, drew the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the camouflage pattern wz.93. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

Most important features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:

- 6 colors forming layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- the use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and the anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette by means of a macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.

The backpack is made of Cordura and equipped with approved ITW Nexus and Duraflex buckles, ensuring durability and reliability in even the most demanding conditions.
