Wisport Sparrow 16 l backpack - MAPA

A small survival-military backpack, derived in concept from the popular urban Raven model. Ideally sitting on the back, the shape has been adapted for new uses. Access to the main compartment is provided by a zipper that unfastens the flap on three edges. Elastic bands were sewn on the inner wall to provide a mini-organizer for pens and markers.  

On the front of the flap is a flat pocket similar in size to the main compartment - it can hold maps, documents or keys.

The backpack, inside, has a clip for a reservoir tank  hydration system, a hole  for bringing out the hose and two handles (one each on the brace) to attach it.

The front and sides have sewn-in pals (inch straps) MOLLE trouser system (an arrangement of inch straps sewn every inch). They allow you to carry items of equipment outside the backpack urgent need (urgent need) and items too large to fit inside.

The side walls also each have two, adjustable-length straps fastened with buckles fastex 25 mm. They are used to compress the backpack (reduce its capacity considering the contents) and can also be useful for stable attachment of equipment carried outside - jacket, tarp, carimata or even camouflage net.

Bearing system ACS (Air Comfort System) consists ofprofiled adjustable-length suspenders and chest strap. The suspenders at the top have buckles that are quick release system backpack.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was designed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and currently a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, author of, among others, the publication Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools of military camouflage design (Gdansk 2015). The innovative design, supported by convincing theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of thousands of terrain photographs, has attracted the attention of specialists and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage made its debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, which is part of the Polish Armament Group. The system was created for soldiers of the Territorial Defense Army, but the MAPA camouflage itself was also considered as a perspective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, where it could replace the camouflage wz.93. Unfortunately, the MAPA camouflage has not been implemented as an official camouflage pattern of the Polish Army to date.

Most important features of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:

- 6 colors forming layers resembling levels on a map,
- colors optimized for operations in the forests of Central Europe,
- the use of the illusion of three-dimensionality and the anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes making the design similar to vegetation,
- strongly contrasting elements imitating flashes of light and shadows,
- deformation of the masked silhouette by means of a macro pattern,
- color noise reproduced by means of a micro pattern.

The MAPA pattern is an interesting alternative to the best contemporary camouflage patterns such as PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn or Finnish M/05. In some respects, it is more advanced than them, and better reproduces the colors found in Central European forests in the period from later spring to early autumn.

The backpack is made of Cordura 500D, equipped with certified buckles ITW NEXUS and Duraflex and heavy-duty zippers, which ensures durability and reliability in any, even the most extreme conditions of use.

The backpack comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
