Ice-check Climbing Technology Alpin Tour Plus 70 cm - orange

A technical ice-check produced by the Italian brand Climbing Technology. Ideal for both beginners and more advanced alpine tourists. It will be great for alpine tourism or winter mountaineering. It is equipped with a hand grip at the bottom of the riser.

The Alpin Tour Plus model has a sturdy head with blade and paddle. The blade is equipped with special serrations to ensure that the driven chequer holds securely in the ice. There is a steel tip at the end of the shaft, which makes it easier to drive the chequer into the compacted snow and at the same time protects the shaft from damage if it comes into contact with the rock. In order to minimise the weight of the entire construction, the shaft is made of a very strong yet lightweight aluminium alloy.

The shape of the boot is profiled, which makes it easier to drive the head into ice or very hard snow. There is a rubber grip on the lower part of the pole, which means that the chequers then lie securely in the hand. The grip is useful when tackling more difficult routes.

The bend in the riser is slight enough so that the ice axe can still be used for support when climbing moderately steep slopes. It's worth mentioning that the Alpin Tour Plus has a Type 2, or extra-strength, ridge-top style of ridge-top.

A wrist loop is included, which can be removed if necessary. There are holes in the blade and the spearhead to allow a carabiner to be clipped in, e.g. to attach a lanyard.
