Climbing Technology Alpin Tour Plus 50 cm Ice Axe - orange

A technical cheek manufactured by the Italian brand Climbing Technology. Ideal for both beginners and more advanced alpine hikers, it will be great for alpine hiking or winter mountaineering. It is equipped with a hand grip on the lower part of the stylet.

The Alpin Tour Plus model has a sturdy head with a blade and paddle. The blade is equipped with special serrations, thanks to which the pounded in checker holds securely in the ice. At the end of the skewer is a steel spearhead, which makes it easier to hammer the check into the compacted snow and at the same time protects the skewer from damage in case of contact with the rock. In order to minimize the weight of the entire structure, the stylus was manufactured from a very strong yet lightweight aluminum alloy.

The stylet has a profiled shape, which makes it easier to drive the head into ice or very hard snow. In the lower part of the stylus there is a rubber grip, thanks to which the check then lies securely in the hand. The grip will come in handy when traversing more difficult trails.

The bend of the stylet is small enough that the checker can still be used for support when climbing moderately steep slopes. It's worth mentioning that the Alpin Tour Plus has a Type 2, or extra-strength, stylet.

It comes with a wrist loop, which can be removed if necessary. There are holes in the blade and spearhead to allow a carabiner to be clipped in, for example, to attach a lanyard.
