Elmer Harry Kreps (1880 - 1957) was an American professional hunter and trapper working in the backwoods of North America. In addition, he gained recognition as an illustrator, as well as an author of books and articles in the trade press.
"Trapper's Guide" is a book written by a man who has spent his entire life in the woods. It mainly contains practical advice from a professional trapper who uses natural materials and has a lot of knowledge, experience and perseverance. The author does not focus on convincing the reader of the charms and advantages of living in the midst of wilderness, away from cities. Instead, he shares valuable knowledge and first-hand advice, such as how to make a fire, how to build a trapper's hut or how to care for an axe. It is worth noting that the book contains many illustrations.
In the end, "Trapper's Handbook" is not just a collection of advice, as it is also a testimony to the life of one of the last ancient forest people.
